ALUMNI / SUPPORTERS NEWS

The Langley Rugby Club has just finished a highly successful season on the field at all levels, including senior, junior and mini rugby. These successes have come from player commitment and financial support via membership fees, sponsors donations, facility rentals, and other fundraisers. Changes in the past few years, including non balanced schedules, demise of the 3rd division, business climate, plus other factors have put added financial pressure on our club. However, we feel that by increasing the involvement of our Alumni/Supporter group, the resources to sustain our clubhouse, grounds, and rugby programs can be realized.

I want to get our Alumni/Supporter group to recognize our situation, and assist the club by supporting the following activities:

1. Any gift up to $100 will be gratefully accepted, and get you on my e-mail list, which will provide information over the year on games, players, Alumni/Supporter Days with an alumni game, social activities, supporter road trips, supporter odd job days around the clubhouse. With the entertainment that the 1st and 2nd XV's provided last season, a $100 gift is great value.

2. A tax receipt will be issued with a minimum $100 gift.

3. Full voting privileges will be granted with a $250 gift. This amount is what the players have to pay, so you can see that they are committed. Join them!

The larger the Alumni/Supporter group grows, the more support the club will realize. More people means more gifts, more cash flow on game days and other activities, louder cheers along the touchlines, and more success on the field. My thoughts also include some A/S apparel; perhaps a cap, jacket, sweater, something distinctive incorporating the club logo. Any ideas will be gratefully received.
